The Honda Accord at Castle Honda: Your Chicago Area Honda Dealer
For many people, the words Honda and Accord are one and the same. And that's no mistake, because the Accord Sedan is more than just a car. It is a collection of ideas. Like the notion that you can be responsible and still enjoy yourself. Or, that smarter engineering can result in both power and efficiency. That's the way Honda thinks. And it's why Accord exists.
Imagine an engine that not only exhilarates, but can also minimize fuel use and emissions. Accord offers three. A 177-hp, 2.4- liter i -VTEC® 4-cylinder (sedan only) and a 190 -hp version, both of which received a Partial Zero -Emission Vehicle (PZEV) rating. A 271-hp, 3.5- liter V6 is also a model of efficiency. The Accord's V- 6 features the latest generation of Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) technology. This system can activate and deactivate the engine's cylinders as needed to meet the demands of acceleration and help maximize fuel efficiency.
The Accord is designed to be an extremely engaging experience. Equip your EX-L with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, and you'll command a vast knowledge of the U.S., except Alaska. It has a huge point-of-interest database, including restaurant ratings and reviews from Zagat Survey. The system can be operated by voice commands or with the central interface dial, which also lets you work the audio system and climate controls. And, all EX-L models feature Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink,® which easily connects with your compatible phone.
The Vehicle Stability Assist ™ (VSA®) system is standard on all Accords. During an understeer or oversteer situation, it can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power to help restore your intended course. Standard ABS will also help you maintain steering even during hard braking. Also standard is Brake Assist, which helps apply full braking in some emergency situations, and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), which helps braking performance by distributing brake force among the four wheels based on how much load each wheel is bearing.
Every Accord comes standard with dual -stage, multiple -threshold front, dual -chamber front side and side curtain airbags to help reduce the likelihood of injuries in a collision. The front passenger's side airbag uses the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) to prevent deployment if a child or small -statured passenger is out of position and in the airbag's path of deployment.
The Accord's Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions.
