There are many Honda Civic models available at your greater Chicago, IL dealer - Castle Honda. But one place that is in need of more Honda cars is getting them - Australia.
The Land Down Under is gearing up for the Japanese auto maker to introduce new variants of Civic, A VTi-L (which is their base model) along with Civic Sport, and a five-door hatchback version.
Starting with 2012 Civic VTi-L, the model boasts large amounts of standard features, but still drops pricing roughly $3700 under last year's model. Next up is Civic Sport, which will make up 25% of volume coming from the auto maker, and begin at $27,990. There will also be a small amount of Civic Hybrids coming to the country, starting off with an MSRP of $35,990.
Pricing for the hatchback has yet to be announced, but that model won't be released throughout Australia until July, 2012. It will also come with the option of a gas or diesel engine under the hood.
Honda Australia Director Stephen Collins confirmed that other models "will be sold with either a 1.8 liter petrol or 2.2 liter diesel engine." The auto maker predicts they will sell roughly 500 models per month.1
The updated Honda Insight Hybrid will also be readily available throughout the continent, as well as Honda Jazz Hybrid (their version of Fit).
Honda Australia hopes to get their sales figures back up to 2010 numbers, about 40,000 units per year.
