Honda to Offer Diesel Cars in India

Across the U.S. and Canada diesel cars are starting to become popular again. Abroad, in countries like the United Kingdom and Germany, diesel is one of the most widely-used forms of fuel for any type of vehicle.
In India, the price of gasoline has been rapidly increasing partly because of the country's huge population. In order to fight off a fuel crisis, exporters of cars to India, such as Honda, are designing alternative engines for smaller cars. Soon, a Honda Fit with diesel powerplant will be available throughout that large country.
Honda Siel Cars India senior vice-president (Sales and Marketing), Jnaneswar Sen, said: "The Research and Development team in Japan is developing diesel engines. It is premature to say that the products will be rolled out on diesel (platform)."1
Honda vehicles make up around twenty percent of the automotive market in India, in terms of sales. The two, top-selling, Honda vehicles in India include Brio (an India exclusive) and Jazz (Europe and Australia's name for Fit).
Maybe one day cars at Castle Honda - 6900 Dempster St in Morton Grove, Illinois, will also come with different diesel engine options for its loyal shoppers to test drive.
